Im sure at times you wonder what nursing cover product would suit you and your needs! I thought id do a run through all the types of nursing products to help anyone that might need a bit of help deciding. Today its the turn of the nursing scarves are an alternative to nursing covers, nursing ponchos and nursing tops. Nursing scarves are designed to drape over your baby and the breast of which your baby is nursing, thus providing a discreet nursing environment for you while out and about with your baby.

In contrast to a nursing cover, the nursing scarf drapes over just one shoulder at a time while a nursing cover drapes over the neck. The nursing scarf stocked by Sweet Boutiques consist of just one unit with simple easy to use instruction on how to wear for discreet breastfeeding.

It always important to remember that nursing scarves are not designed for carrying a baby, they are just for covering your baby and you while breastfeeding. If you want a way of carring your baby but can breastfeed in then you should consider looking at slings.

Sweet Boutiques currently stock two popular UK brands, and these two businesses were started by mums who saw a need for a nursing scarf style nursing cover. There brands are Mamascarf and Breastfeeding Butterfly.

Hasnt it been the wierdest weather over the last 2 weeks. We were basking in 20 degrees C sunshine a little over a week ago and today im frozen. Although the car temperature guage says 6.5 degrees ive never felt such cold in ages. The wind is so cold around where i live.

originally i had thought we would introduce or talk about summer nursing tops given it was so warm but now i think i might revert to the warmer options.

Im not sure if ye noticed but we have a few nice new brands joining us at Sweet Boutiques and with some nice new and fashionable options to boot.

My favourite is this beautiful AVA blue nursing top by a New Zealand breastfeeding company. I love the colour in particular, its looks nice and its comfortable to wear. You would never think its a nursing top. It uses a vertical nursing access which is hidden underneath the pleats making it easy for access from either side of the pleated over-layer

AVA blue nursing top

To be honest given our changable weather (unfortunately) i think there is always a place in your wardrobe for long sleeved tops . But if we have to dress for the weather, i reckon this top is perfect. What do you think? Have you a nursing wardrobe essential you cant do without??

Nursing covers are generally made in a variety of lovely fabric choices from plain colours like black and white, to designer 100% cotton fabrics as well as soft jersey cotton. Every mother is different, so is their sense of style, and colour so never worry, finding a nursing cover to suit you is easy.

Nursing covers offer an easy to use breastfeeding privacy cover as you need to do is place it over your head and off you go, you are covered . You can view your little baby with ease with a nursing cover or a nursing apron as they are sometimes called because nursing covers normally have built in boning around the neck area to allow it to stand out from your body, acting a little window into your nursing baby.

Nursing Covers have lots of other great advantages like:

Shields baby from eternal events that could distract him

Great if you have a fussy baby that moves a lot so you keep covered after sudden movements

Shields your baby from sun

Although nursing covers are not designed as a sun shield and a baby should never be left unattended with a nursing cover, under supervision you can even be draped over the top of your buggy to add an extra sun shield or if sun is shining in your little ones eyes.

At Sweet Boutiques, summer has arrived and we are looking forward to summer styles, summer fun. There is no better time to enjoy yourself and have fun than while out and about with your new baby. Everyone loves looking at your little one and it brings joy.

As a new breastfeeding mum you will soon realize that getting out and about with a baby is easier than you originally thought. You don’t have any carry feeding bottles, no formula dispensers, no sterilizing. So all you need is baby, nappies and some burp cloths and away you go!

If you don’t think, breastfeeding is something you are confident about when you are out shopping, having a coffee or on holidays, don’t be left out. There are lots of options to help you when you need breastfeed in public.

We have a list below of a range of nursing privacy productsthat could be what you need to really enjoy your maternity break this summer. We will discuss each one in more detail over the following weeks so you know what product is for you this summer.

The biggest decisions for new breastfeeding mums after deciding they want to use a nursing cover, is , which one should i buy?

Nursing apron expresso swirl

Do i buy a Sweet Nursing Apron Nursing Cover??? Or a Mamascarf? or a Breastfeeding Butterfly? A Poncho??

Here are a few things to think about when you are wondering which nursing cover option is right for you?

Fun, Fresh Designs

If you are looking for a nursing cover in stylish designs that is easy to use and store in your handbag (own little pouch) then go for a nursing apron like our own Sweet Nursing covers. There are always updated with new fresh designs every season as well as having the traditional ginghams and plain black , teal and whites that never go out of style.

Good Value , looks like your are using a sling

If you would prefer a scarf style nursing cover that looks like you are using a sling, then the Mamascarf or Breastfeeding Butterfly is most likely the option for you. They come in at great price, they fold up small so they take up little room in your bag and when you are nursing, they look like you are using a sling instead of a nursing cover.

Complete Cover – Looks like an item of clothing

Then the breastfeeding poncho is most likely the option of you. It comes in a one size fits most, it covers up mum and baby but looks like an item of clothing rather than a nursing cover or nursing scarf.

Adaptable Nursing Cover?- What if My Cover get Soiled?

Yep, you look in your bag and the nursing cover should have been washed and now you need it? The Sweet Nursing Covers have a detachable strap which means you can use the strap to attach to any towel, or light blanket or muslin you have when your beautiful nursing cover is in the wash.

We are pleased to be able to offer our mums a wide range of nursing cover options on Sweet Boutiques.…..

AS the years are going by, i marvel at how my baby is nolonger a baby and now she can create little master pieces. She strives to be a crafter before she is able. SHe struggles with knitting needles and sewing but i cant get her to understand she is not yet 5 years old and that she needs more time to become more proficient with such crafts.

But she can draw quite interesting pictures including one of me with her in my tummy. Yes a large child inside my stomach!! And so my house chuck full of such drawings from her first days in play group to now school. Im sure you are all in same boat with these masterpieces!! Unwilling to throw them in the bin but dont know where they fit into your house.

Here are some ideas to use your little art treasures:

Create a favourite pile and less favourite pile

Use 5 or 6 of your favourites and pin them to a notice board or alternatively

gather old boxes and open them out and stick the favourites on to the cardboard completly covering the ugly brown colour

Put the less favoutites pictures in a porfolio folder to save. Remember to label them with the childs name and date as you will forget in time to come , who drew what!

Now you can create a decorate trims of your cardboard if you wish and display these images in your kids bedroom or play room or hall.

ANother idea is to buy cheap picture frames and include segments of the masterpieces in the frame or maybe layer the pictures to create a completely new abstract picture!

Gathering your favourites together on one display is a easy and a neat way of including your little ones art in your world and not keeping them hidden in a box for no one to see……

Designer Bubbles notice board

I maybe wrong but for many new moms, like me, keeping my post baby tummy covered is a big deal and as breastfeeding involves lifting your top ( if you have not bought specially designed nursing tops, that is) and with this , also comes the exposing of the belly….
Breastvest is cut to cover your tummy but not your breast, so you wear it underneath your standard non breastfeeding tops and when baby needs to be nursed, its just a matter of lifting your top and away you go (your tummy is covered up !).

Its also been featured on morning TV on ITV.

SO What Makes Breastvest Different?
